ANKARA - The decision approving the agreement signed between Turkey and Portugal on work permission given to family members of diplomats, administrative and technical personnel charged in both countries, was promulgated in the Official Gazette on Monday.
According to the agreement signed between the two countries on July 2, 2003 in Lausanne, family members of the officially charged personnel by Turkey and Portugal can work in the country where that of the personnel is assigned, on the basis of reciprocity and under certain conditions.
The concept of ''family members'' mentioned in the agreement covers spouses; children who are under the age of 21 and who are unmarried; children who are under the age of 25, who are unmarried and who continue to study; and children who are unmarried and who are physically and mentally disabled without age limitation.
The work permission granted to family members will end when the term in office of the diplomatic, administrative and technical personnel ends in that country.
