ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul received U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Richard Boucher on Wednesday.
Boucher told reporters following the meeting that Turkey and the United States were determined to maintain their cooperation and coordination in Central Asia and Afghanistan.
Noting that Turkey and the United States had common interests in the region, Boucher highlighted importance of the two countries' supporting each other.
Boucher said that Turkey had made valuable contributions to Afghanistan.
He noted that they consider the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline a very important project.
Upon a question, Boucher said that Iran's nuclear activities was not brought onto agenda of the meeting, and added that no one wanted Iran to have nuclear weapons.
