ANKARA - ''Turkish Foreign Minister & Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul does not plan to pay an official visit to Iran for the time being,'' said Namik Tan, spokesman for the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, on Wednesday.
Speaking at the weekly press briefing, Tan stressed that Turkey was in favor of finding a peaceful and diplomatic solution to the Iranian issue.
Upon a question about the planned visit of Gul to the United States, Tan told reporters that a certain date had not been set for the visit yet.
When asked whether Turkey would request for compensation after release of the report about the collision of Turkish and Greek war planes in the international air zone over the Aegean Sea, Tan said that they were planning to ask for compensation.
