ANKARA - Former Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit is still in coma on life support, Gulhane Military Medical Academy (GATA) declared on Wednesday.
Ecevit, 82, had a stroke on May 18th after attending the funeral of judge Mustafa Yucel Ozbilgin, who was killed in an armed attack against the Council of State building in Ankara.
He was taken to the GATA medical center with aphasia and weakness in his right arm and leg. The stroke led to a bleeding in the left side of his brain. A surgery was performed to remove the accumulated blood and reduce the pressure on his brain. Since then, he has remained in coma on life support.
