GAZIANTEP - New mosaics and frescos have been excavated from Ancient Zeugma City located in Belkis Village 10 km east from Nizip town of southeastern Gaziantep province, by the River Euphrates.
Officials told the A.A correspondent on Saturday that excavation which was started by Gaziantep Governor Lutfullah Bilgin on July 23 in Ancient Zeugma City continued.
Officials said that new mosaics and frescos had been found during the excavations and stated that some studies to determine people who were illustrated on mosaics continued and after those studies were completed, they would be made public.
Justice and Development Party (AK Party) Gaziantep deputy Mehmet Sari came to the region and received information.
Sari said that Ancient Zeugma City had a historical place in Turkey and the world and stated that the city would contribute to improvement of tourism sector in Nizip and Gaziantep.
