Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan met Macedonian Prime Minister Vlado Buckovski on the sidelines of a gathering in Tirana, after which the two leaders addressed reporters together.
Erdoğan said the talks covered economic, military, and cultural cooperation as well as regional issues, and he voiced Türkiye's backing for Macedonia's admission to NATO.
On trade, Erdoğan noted that bilateral commercial ties had grown significantly and that Türkiye intended to push the volume higher. He also announced plans to open a Turkish cultural center in Skopje, partly to assist Macedonian efforts to restore Ottoman-era structures.
Buckovski said his government was committed to deepening ties with Türkiye and urged Turkish investors to consider opportunities in Macedonia.
The two sides concluded the session by signing a bilateral agreement on standardization cooperation.
