ANKARA - ''The relations between Turkey and South Africa are really friendly,'' Turkish National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul said on Tuesday.
Speaking before a meeting with Mosiuoa Gerard Patrick Lekota, the Defense Minister of South Africa, Gonul recalled the visit of Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan to this country (carried out last year), stating that important progress was recorded in relations between Turkey and South Africa after this visit.
''Defense Industry does not have any contribution to actual 1.5 billion USD trade volume and we will be in an effort to increase this volume,'' he added.
Lekota in his part stated that his country pays attention to the improvement of bilateral relations, emphasizing that the two countries have a very high potential particularly in joint production area.
