ANKARA - An agreement was reached regarded with sale of electricity from Turkey to Iraq, and the agreement is expected to be signed in September.
Energy and Natural Resources Ministry issued a written statement and said Turkey's initiatives resulted on rebuilding of Iraq following U.S. operation against Iraq.
The statement said Energy and Natural Resources Ministry reached a principle agreement on sale of electricity to Iraq. Sale of electricity will start from 50 megawatt and increase up to 200 megawatt.
The protocol pertaining to the agreement between Turkey and Iraq is expected to be signed in a ceremony in Ankara.
The statement said Energy and Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler pointed out that his ministry carried out studies on projects which Turkey could implement on Iraq, and that new projects will take effect in the coming days.
