BERLIN - Turkish Energy & Natural Resources Minister Hilmi Guler has indicated that Turkey was playing a role of bridge between eastern countries producing natural gas and oil, and western countries consuming them.
Guler arrived in German capital of Berlin for a formal visit on Monday and held a press conference in Turkish embassy.
Noting that European countries needed energy and oil, Guler said that EU countries considered Turkey a new alternative channel for their energy needs. Guler underlined that Nabucco project and Shah Deniz natural gas pipeline project proved that Turkey was an important option for EU.
Guler noted that Ceyhan would become an important energy center with Kirkuk-Ayvalik, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan and Samsun-Ceyhan pipeline projects.
Guler added that he would have a meeting with German Economics & Technology Minister Michael Glos tomorrow.
