HAKKARI - Turkish police confiscated 145.27 kilograms of heroin in an operation in southeastern city of Hakkari, sources said on Monday.
Hakkari Governor's Office released a written statement and said the police, acting on a tip off, stopped a lorry, headed to eastern city of Van, and found the heroin hidden in secret parts of the lorry.
The heroin which had been brought in from Iran, was planned to be smuggled to the west, the statement said.
Driver of the lorry was arrested.
