PRIZREN - Lieutenant Colonel Sadullah Sadullahoglu, the commander of Kosovo Turkish Peace Keeping Commander said on Thursday that he was proud of celebrating Victory Day in an international atmosphere and that Turkish soldiers would continue to work for security and prosperity of Kosovo people.
Speaking to A.A correspondent upon 30 August Victory Day, Lieutenant Colonel Sadullahoglu said that Turkish soldiers ensured peace and security in Dragas and Mamusa regions since July 4, 1999 within the scope of Kosovo Peace Keeping Force (KFOR) and that it carried out humanitarian aid and social activities without making any discrimination among people.
Sadullahoglu said that Kosovo Turkish Battalion Mission Command was in the effort of promoting Turkish Republic and Turkish Army in the best way and setting up friendly relations.
Noting that Kosovo people supported and liked Turkish soldiers very much, Sadullahoglu said that this stemmed from common history and culture. He stated that they carried out successful work within the scope of civilian-military cooperation, adding that they were also involved in protecting and restoring Turkish historical works of art.
Sadullahoglu stated that they presented books, notebooks and other equipment to students, they organized training courses in all places of Kosovo, adding that they formed humanitarian aid office within the scope of the battalion and Kosovo citizens conveyed their demands of aid through this office.
Sadullahoglu stated that they were very proud of praising of Turkish soldiers by international peace keeping commanders, adding that they would continue to contribute to peace and security in Kosovo.
