ANKARA - Health Minister Resmiye Mumcu of Kosovo paid a visit to Health Minister Recep Akdag on Thursday.
Speaking at the meeting, Akdag said, ''there have been historical and cultural ties between Turkey and Kosovo. Turkey has always monitored developments in Kosovo and made contributions to international efforts aiming at settling peace and stability in the region.''
''We attribute great importance to further improvement of our relations with Kosovo in health. We want to share our experiences and information with Kosovo. I believe that Mumcu's visit to Turkey will be a significant turning point in our cooperation with Kosovo in health. During the meeting, we will exchange views about regional and national health problems. I hope that our efforts will constitute a model for the other countries, and a multilateral and comprehensive health cooperation will start in the Balkans,'' he said.
Meanwhile, Health Minister Mumcu of Kosovo said that they visited Dr. Siyami Ersek Hospital in Istanbul during the first part of their visit to Turkey.
Mumcu said that they pleased with observing Turkey's progress in health.
