CAMP DAVID - US President George W. Bush on Monday began two days of talks at Camp David on the US-led war effort in Iraq and mapping ways to help the new government there, a senior aide said.
Bush and top advisers -- with US military and diplomatic officials in Baghdad connected by teleconference -- planned to study the best way to help Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki's fledgling government, officials said.
The talks began shortly after 9:30 am (1330 GMT), according to a White House official who requested anonymity.
