ANKARA - Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Thursday received Istanbul Fener Greek Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomeos.
Bartholomeos told reporters after the meeting which lasted for nearly 40 minutes that they called for an appointment from Erdogan to discuss problems of the Patriarchate.
Bartholomeos said they exchanged views, and that they agreed that their problems have both political and legal dimensions.
Bartholomeos said they were shown understanding, and that Erdogan told him that their problems would be considered with good will. He said they were sure that Turkey would find solution to their problems soon.
Bartholomeos said they also presented a letter to Erdogan including their problems.
When asked about Heybeliada seminary, Bartholomeos said this was taken up at the meeting.
