ANKARA - ''August 30 Victory and Turkish Armed Forces Day'' will be celebrated throughout Turkey and in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on Saturday.
The first ceremony will take place at the mausoleum of Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the Founder of the modern Republic of Turkey.
General Staff Chief General Hilmi Ozkok will lay a wreath to the mausoleum and observe a minute of silence out of respect to Ataturk and his brothers in arm.
Commanders of land, air, naval and gendarmerie forces will attend the ceremony.
Later, President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and General Staff Chief General Ozkok will watch the ceremonies to be held in Ankara's Ataturk Culture Center
Ceremonies will end with a reception to be hosted by General Ozkok to mark the August 30 Victory and Turkish Armed Forces Day.
