BAKOYIANNI: ''OUR PEOPLE CANNOT BEAR ANOTHER DOG FIGHT''
Greek FM Theodora Bakoyianni told the Hurriyet daily that the two countries should not experience another tragic incident in the Aegean Sea, noting that Turkish and Greek people could not bear another dog-fight. Bakoyianni stressed that the two countries could implement new confidence-building measures, underlining that her country continued to support Turkey's EU accession process.
''PRICE STABILITY CANNOT BE SACRIFICED FOR ANY OTHER PRIORITY OR TARGET''
Turkish Central Bank Governor Durmus Yilmaz has indicated, ''price stability can not be sacrificed for any other priority or target.'' Delivering a speech in a meeting in western city of Izmir, Yilmaz noted that price stability was the bank's key priority. He stressed, ''it is possible to say that inflation would exceed the official year-end target.'' ''Price stability has not yet been fully achieved and there is a way to go. The latest developments in inflation confirm this,'' Yilmaz said.

An investigation revealed that Istanbul's worldwide famous Topkapi Palace had been looted too. Inspectors found out that 43 pieces of historical works of arts were missing.
A GIANT PARTNER
Kazakhstan having an oil reserve of 35 billion barrels will be included in the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline project. The inclusion of Kazakhstan will increase both the capacity of the pipeline and Turkey's strategic importance.

END OF THE MURDERER
Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, terrorism network al-Qaida's leader in Iraq, was killed in a U.S. bombardment in Iraq. Al-Zarqawi was the architecture of the Istanbul bombings in 2003 in which 57 people were killed and many others were wounded. Meral Altinkilic, who survived the bomb attack on the British Consulate General in Istanbul, said that the justice prevailed at last.
A CHILD KILLED IN PKK BOMBING
A bomb, which was placed in a dumpster in Cizre town of the southeastern city of Sirnak, went off killing a 13-year-old child and injuring five people.

SEMRA SEZER IN HARAM AL-SHARIF
Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer and his wife Semra Sezer visited the Temple Mount/Haram al-Sharif, the religious site in the Old City of Jerusalem, Israel yesterday. Later Sezer and an accompanying delegation proceeded from Israel to Palestine to hold several talks.
5 BLN USD FROM QATAR
Foreign investors show great interest in Turkey despite fluctuations in the Turkish market. Qatari company Anwar announced that it wanted to make an investment of 5 billion USD in Turkey during the Second Turkish-Arab Economic Forum in Istanbul.

SECRET MEETING
According to Iraqi sources, Turkey has held secret talks with the United States and Britain on the issue of Kirkuk. During the talks, Turkey stressed that if a step was taken in favor of any ethnic groups in Kirkuk, it would lead serious problems in whole Iraq.
SELEK ACQUITTED
Sociologist Pinar Selek was acquitted in the eight-year case of Egyptian Bazaar (Misir Carsisi). The court delegation ruled that it was impossible to find out whether a bomb or LPG caused the blast in the bazaar in 1998 in which 7 people were killed and 127 others were injured.

ERDOGAN: ''BLOODSHED SHOULD BE STOPPED''
Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan stressed, ''there have been several unfavorable developments in the Middle East. We hope that there will not be another war in the region.'' Speaking at the Second Turkish-Arab Economic Forum in Istanbul, Prime Minister Erdogan noted that there should be peaceful solutions regarding Iran. Erdogan said, ''if we believe in democracy, we should show respect to results of elections. If we cannot endure it, we may face anti-democratic consequences since intervention is anti-democratic.''
SEZER: ''INDEPENDENT PALESTINE SHOULD BE FOUNDED''
Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer who had a meeting with Palestinian administration leader Mahmoud Abbas in Ramallah said, ''we hope that an independent Palestine will be founded.

GULF CONTRIES TO INVEST IN TURKEY
The Second Turkish-Arab Economic Forum started in Istanbul yesterday with the participation of a number of Turkish and Arab businessmen. During the meeting, businessmen from the Gulf countries said that they wanted to invest in Turkey.
ISTANBUL TO HOST INTERNATIONAL TURKISH LANGUAGE OLYMPICS
Istanbul will host the International Turkish Language Olympics on June 17th with the participation of 355 students from 84 countries. The award ceremony will take place in the Myshowland, the biggest show center in Europe. Meanwhile, name of the center will be changed as ''Istanbul Show and Congress Center'' for the event.

Palestinian administration leader Mahmoud Abbas welcomed Turkish President Ahmet Necdet Sezer by telling him that Palestine was Sezer's second country. During the meeting, President Sezer said, ''Turkey is in favor of finding a solution to the Israeli-Palestinian dispute through negotiations on the basis of the road map. We wish that an independent Palestinian state that co-exists with Israel in peace and security will be founded.''

State Minister Ali Babacan said that Turkey's EU membership process would gain impetus during the EU presidency of Finland. Babacan stressed that Turkey was determined to reach its target of EU full membership.
