Court Decides To Arrest Former Directors Of Imar Bankasi In Their Absentia

ISTANBUL - The Basic Criminal Court no: 2 in Sisli district of Istanbul decided on Thursday to arrest Kemal Uzan and Yavuz Uzan, the former directors of Imar Bankasi, in their absentia.
A total of 19 people were questioned by prosecutors Mecit Ceylan and Sait Kunt under the investigation into the Imar Bankasi which was transferred to Saving Deposits Insurance Fund (SDIF).
Nine of them including Hilmi Basaran, the former director General of the Imar Bankasi, were arrested by the court on duty.
Meanwhile, the Basic Criminal Court no: 2 in Sisli district assessed the request of prosecutors and decided on Thursday to arrest Kemal Uzan and Yavuz Uzan in accordance with Article 104 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CMUK).
Prosecutor Ceylan's request for arrest of Hakan Uzan and Bahattin Uzan in their absentia was rejected by the court.
