INTERESTING NAME IN PROTOCOL LIST
Islamic Society National Opinion (IGMG) leader Yavuz Celik Karahan will attend the meeting to be held between Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan and representatives of Turkish associations and societies in Berlin during Prime Minister Erdogan's scheduled visit to Germany next week. Karahan whose real name was Osman Yobas changed his name after he killed a man accidentally in the past. According to last year's report of German Federal Constitution Protection Agency, IGMG has 26 thousand 500 members. The report says that the IGMG had been carrying out works to bring an Islamic order in Turkey instead of the secular system.
WARRANT OF ARREST FOR UZAN FAMILY
Basic Criminal Court no: 2 in Sisli district of Istanbul decided to arrest Kemal Uzan and Yavuz Uzan, the former directors of Imar Bankasi which was transferred to the Saving Deposits Insurance Fund (SDIF), in their absentia under the investigation into the Imar Bankasi.
TURKEY EMBRACES 11 IRAQI PATIENTS
A total of 11 Iraqi patients aged between 2 and 25 who could not be treated in Iraq, were brought to Ankara by a full-equipped ambulance plane of the Turkish Air Forces to receive medical treatment at the Gulhane Military Medical Academy (GATA). The patients who were accompanied by doctors and health officials of the Freedom Organization of Iraq Children (FOIC), were transferred to the GATA.

GUL MEETS WITH EDELMAN
New U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Eric Edelman met with Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul. Speaking at the meeting, Edelman described himself as a friend of Turkish people, and stressed that he would expend efforts to further develop cooperation between Turkey and the United States. During the meeting, Edelman noted that the United States expected Turkey's contributions to rebuilding process of Iraq.
FIRSTLY PKK, LATER MOTION
It was reported that Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul told members of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party), ''if the United States does not fulfill our conditions about the terrorist organization PKK, we may not bring the motion about dispatch of Turkish soldiers to Iraq onto parliamentary agenda.'' The government has been waiting for the United States' launching an initiative about the terrorist organization PKK/KADEK before taking a decision about dispatch of Turkish soldiers to Iraq.
''WE HAVE BEEN LOCKED IN A VICIOUS CIRCLE''
Air Forces Commander General Cumhur Asparuk handed over his mission to General Ibrahim Firtina in a ceremony held with the participation of President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc, Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, National Defense Minister Vecdi Gonul and a number of guests. Speaking at the ceremony, General Asparuk said, ''while the industrialized countries have been controlling the world dominance from the space, we have still been dealing in a vicious circle with the issues of the Blue Stream Project, religious high schools, banks, Islamic-style headscarf, religious societies and clothing in cultures of other countries.''

PATRIARCH BARTHOLOMEW TO MEET WITH ERDOGAN
Greek Orthodox Patriarch Bartholomew will meet with Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan. During the meeting, Patriarch Bartholomew will request reopening of seminary in Heybeliada. He is expected to give the message that reopening of the seminary could affect the positive views in the European Union (EU) about Turkey.
''THERE HAS BEEN OBSERVABLE IMPROVEMENT PROCESS IN ECONOMY''
State Minister Ali Babacan said, ''there has been an observable improvement process in our economy.'' Making opening remarks of meeting of Coordination Council on Improving Environment (YOIKK) at the Treasury Undersecretariat, Babacan said, ''the macroeconomic figures and other similar developments have paved the way for Turkey to become a center of investment once again. The recent positive atmosphere is permanent. All sections have begun feeling this atmosphere. In order to settle a healthy and lasting economic structure in Turkey, investments, production and employment should increase rapidly.''

DEMOCRACY OF AK PARTY
Security forces have detained 19 people upon directives of the government after civil servants held a demonstration in Ankara to claim their rights. Meanwhile, an investigation has been launched against heads of 14 labor unions. Representatives of labor unions and non-government organizations claimed that the ''human rights and democracy understanding'' of the Justice and Development Party (AK Party) became apparent.
TURKISH RED CRESCENT WITHDRAWS
Turkish Red Crescent in Iraq has begun getting prepared to leave this country after Taleban forces sent a letter to International Red Crescent and Red Cross Federation stating that they were preparing to target civilian aid organizations throughout the world. The Federation sent a copy of this letter to the Turkish Red Crescent and asked Turkey to be careful regarding the issue. Humanitarian aid organizations are declared as the main enemy of Islam and humanity in the letter which is claimed to be sent on August 12 by Mullah Omar, former leader of Taleban.

PLANS OF 'DEEP STATE'
The secret regulations of the National Security Council (NSC) Secretariat General revealed foundation, power and functioning of 'deep state'. The regulations showed that the society had been exposed to all kinds of psychological bombardment for 20 years. Two pages of the regulations included psychological operation duty of the Directorate of Public Relations. In these pages, some institutions were considered levers of the operation. Ministries, public institutions and private institutions were included in the scope of the operation.
IRAQI PATIENTS IN ANKARA
Under humanitarian aid to Iraq, Turkey has proposed to undertake medical treatment of injured and ill Iraqi people in its hospitals. A total of 11 patients including eight children were brought to Ankara yesterday by a military ambulance plane.

AGREEMENT REACHED
Turkmen and Kurdish groups in Kirkuk have taken the first step to live in peace. Representatives of Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITC) and Patriotic Union of Iraqi Kurdistan (PUK) came together at ITC's headquarters in in Kirkuk to ease the tension which escalated after the events in Kirkuk and Tuz Kharmato in which 11 Turkmen people lost their lives. During the meeting, the sides have reached an agreement. According to the agreement, the two parties condemned the events in Kirkuk and Tuz Kharmato, and a new committee was formed to investigate the events, find those who are responsible and bring them to the court.
SUREYYA AYHAN OF TURKEY QUALIFIES FOR SEMI FINAL
Sureyya Ayhan, the famous female athlete of Turkey, came on the first place at the World Athletics Championships in French capital Paris. She qualified for the semi final as the ran first women's 1,500 metres first round heat one at 4 minutes 8.12 seconds. Ayhan said that she would win the final.

TURKEY LAUNCHES INITIATIVES TO SEND HUMANITARIAN AID TO IRAQ
Turkey, which has been trying to take a decision about dispatch of its soldiers to Iraq in line with a request of the United States, has also been expending efforts to please Iraqi people. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which has taken the first step to bring Iraqi patients to Ankara for medical treatment, has been maintaining its initiatives to construct two hospitals in Baghdad and Kirkuk. During his visit to the United States, Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Abdullah Gul said that Turkey wanted to undertake an active role in rebuilding process of Iraq. Gul noted that Turkey could assist Iraq in sectors of energy, health and transportation.
