ANKARA - The Patriotic Union of Iraqi Kurdistan (PUK) Representation in Ankara said on Wednesday that an agreement had been reached to solve problems between the PUK and the Iraqi Turkmen Front (ITC) following the events in Kirkuk and Tuz Kharmato cities of Iraq in which more than 10 Turkmen people lost their lives.
Releasing a statement, PUK Representation in Ankara said, ''Ahmet Rizgar Ali and Khaval Ramadan represented the PUK while ITC was represented by Sadettin Erkic and Mustafa Kemal Yaycili during yesterday's meeting at the headquarters of ITC in Kirkuk.''
''During the meeting, events in Kirkuk and Tuz Kharmato were taken up in a friendly and sincere atmosphere. Later, the sides have signed a six-article agreement:
1- The two parties condemned the events in Kirkuk and Tuz Kharmato.
2- A new committee has been formed to investigate the events, find those who are responsible and bring them to the court.
3- The two parties have decided to on call Arab, Kurdish, Turkmen, Assyrian and the other groups to live friendly and peacefully in Iraq.
4- The two parties have decided to help the injured people and relatives of martyrs.
5- A new committee has been formed in order to solve all kinds of problems on time. A ''solution room'' has been opened for the committee.
6- The two parties have decided to hold regular meetings in order to take up political, social and national issues and to protect relations,'' the statement added.
