ANKARA - Turkish Environment & Forestry Minister Osman Pepe met Romanian Environment & Water Resources Minister Sulfina Barbu in Ankara on Thursday.
Recalling that Romania would become a full member of the EU in January 2007, Pepe stated, ''this development is very important to Turkey. We hope Romania is going to share its experiences regarding its (EU) accession process with Turkey.''
Stating that Turkey and Romania should boost cooperation in environmental issues, Pepe stressed that the two countries should collaborate in joint projects.
On the other hand, Barbu indicated that an action plan was prepared between Turkey and Romania for environmental studies.
Barbu also added that Romania was ready to extend every kind of support to Turkey regarding EU accession process.
