GENEVA - Turkish Labor & Social Security Minister Murat Basesgioglu, who is currently in Geneva for the 95th International Labor Organization (ILO) Conference, separately met ILO Director General Juan Somavia, Belgian Employment Minister Peter Vanvelthoven and Germany Federal Economy and Ministry of Labor Parliamentary Secretary Gerd Andres.
During his meeting with Basesgioglu, Andres said that they could extend technical support to Turkey's EU accession bid.
On the other hand, Basesgioglu said during his meeting with Somavia that Turkey attached great importance to social dialogue.
Basesgioglu invited Somavia to a conference on employment strategies to be held in Istanbul in September 2006.
