GAZIANTEP - The Union of Chambers & Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) Chairman Rifat Hisarciklioglu has indicated that trade volume between Turkey and Iraq was 2.6 billion USD and the two countries should work to increase this figure.
A business forum was held under ''Iraq International Fair'' that has opened in southeastern city of Gaziantep today.
Delivering a speech at the forum, Hisarciklioglu stated that Turkey was the 17th biggest economy in the world with gross national product of 370 billion USD.
Contracting services and tourism sector were the two important sectors in which Turkey and Iraq could cooperate, Hisarciklioglu said and noted that Turkish contractors undertook projects of 75 billion USD in 61 countries.
Meanwhile, Turkish State Minister Kursad Tuzmen stressed that they would exert efforts to host this fair every year.
