ANKARA - Turkey's current account deficit was up 62.3 percent and became 4.122 billion USD in April 2006 over to the same month of 2005.
Turkish Central Bank released on Wednesday its report on balance of payments developments for April 2006.
According to the bank's statistics, foreign trade deficit grew 67 percent and reached 4.276 billion USD and net tourism incomes rose by 9.9 percent to 741 million USD in April.
On the other hand, current account deficit rose by 43.3 percent from 8.7 billion USD in the January-April period of 2005 to 12.5 billion USD in the same period 2006.
