ANKARA - ''Turkey has already started negotiations with the EU on October 3rd. What we should do from now on is to concentrate on our domestic reforms,'' Turkish State Minister & Chief Negotiator Ali Babacan said on Wednesday.
Replying to the questions in a TV program broadcast jointly by NTV and CNBC-e channels, Babacan said an intergovernmental conference would be convened with the partnership council in Luxembourg on June 12th.
-OPENING OF TURKISH PORTS TO GREEK CYPRIOT SHIPS-
Asked if a solution could be reached on the issue of opening of Turkish ports to Greek Cypriot vessels by the end of this year, Babacan said there was divergence of understanding between Turkey and the European Commission on this issue. ''Promises were made to end blockade on TRNC. We expect them to be kept,'' he added.
-PRESS CONFERENCE-
Babacan also said he would hold a press on Thursday (tomorrow) to explain what have been done so far since October 3rd, and what they would do in 2006-2007.
