ANKARA - Hasip Arif Al-Obeidi, the representative of Al-Obeid tribe, which is one of the largest Arabian tribes of Iraq, said on Wednesday that they conveyed their request to Ankara regarded with sending of Turkish soldiers to Iraq, stating that Turkish soldiers could be assigned in places near to their own borders.
Speaking to private NTV channel, Arif Al-Obeidi said Turkey has very important assignments in future and stability of Iraq, and briefed about his contacts in Ankara.
Pointing out that they conveyed their positive views regarded with sending of Turkish soldiers to Iraq, the representative said Turkey should take this decision in line with its own interests.
Arif Al-Obeidi said in case Turkey takes a decision regarded with sending of soldiers, the Turkish soldiers should be deployed in places near to their own borders. He said the place where Turkish soldiers would take assignment should be determined by Turkey, not by the United States.
Condemning those who caused the incidents which had occurred in Kirkuk and its environs recently, the representative said they did not approve the activities of Kurdish groups and the implementations of the United States in the region.
Arif Al-Obeid warned that Kurdish groups' having weapons could disrupt order in the region.
