ANKARA - Members of Turkish Public Workers Trade Union (Kamu-Sen) will begin hunger strike if the government and unions of civil servants could not reach an agreement during collective bargaining talks on Friday.
Releasing a statement on Wednesday, Kamu-Sen said that when the union was struggling at the collective bargaining table, it also continued its preparations for hunger strike.
Recalling that the fourth session of collective bargaining talks with the government would be held on August 29, the statement said that it would be a session in which demands of civil servants would become definite.
The statement added that if collective bargaining talks yielded negative results, members of Kamu-Sen would begin hunger strike in Ankara on August 31.
