BAGHDAD - Safeen Dizayee, Turkey representative of Iraqi Kurdistan Democrat Party (KDP) said on Wednesday that the incidents that took place in Kirkuk were terrorist incidents, and he condemned the incidents.
Speaking to A.A correspondent in Baghdad, Dizayee said that ''we are very sorry for the incidents and we condemn them.''
Stressing that it was wrong to accuse certain groups without concluding the investigation, Dizayee said that it was apparent that there were persons who tried to disturb the stability and unity of that region. He said that neither KDP nor Iraqi Patriotic Union for Kurdistan (PUK) would accept such a thing.
Dizayee said that they didn't need deployment of any foreign power or peacekeeping force in the north of Iraq, adding that the region was more peaceful and stable when compared to the other regions of Iraq. He commented that the region didn't need any foreign troops.
Dizayee said that KDP, PUK and other Kurdish groups in the region were warm to the idea of formation of a federation in Iraq, adding that they regard it as a permanent solution. Dizayee said that they supported territorial integrity of Iraq and that the problems could be solved in Baghdad, adding that they attended the interim administration council due to that reason. He said that they also wanted protection of rights of Turkmen people.
Dizayee said that everybody had the right to explain his/her own view, adding that Iraqi Kurds didn't have the intention to disturb that.
Everything can be discussed at an appropriate level, he said, adding that the peoples of that region can solve the problems together in a calm atmosphere. ''We live together for hundred of years,'' he said.
Dizayee said that they had problems with Turkey from time to time, adding that but they should be considered as normal family problems. He said that Turkish companies had certain investments in north of Iraq, adding that they were ready to support Turkish businessmen. When asked why he was in Baghdad, Dizayee said that he came to Baghdad to attend certain meetings on behalf of KDP. Dizayee said that his mission in Turkey continued. Safeen Dizayee said that Turkey was an important place for them, adding that the existence of KDP representation in Ankara continued.
Dizayee said that he met with AK Party deputy Turhan Comez who was in the Turkish delegation, in Baghdad, adding that they took up the situation in the region during the meeting. Dizayee said that they had good dialogue with AK Party and CHP, adding that yet there were certain problems due to misguidance of the media.
