HURRIYET (LIBERAL)

THIRD DOOR TO BE OPENED TO TALAT
After Britain and the United States, Germany decided to talk formally with the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC).
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier will meet TRNC President Mehmet Ali Talat at 10.00 a.m. on Friday in Berlin.
This meeting does not mean that German government would recognize TRNC but it establishes formal contact with the elected President of the TRNC.
HERE ARE 2013 TARGETS
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced the 7-year 9th development plan covering the years 2007-2013.
According to the plan, national income per capita will be 10.100 USD, inflation will be 3 percent, Turkey will grow 6.5 percent every year, 60 percent of people will use internet, exports will be 214 billion USD and tourism earnings will be 36 billion USD.

ANXIOUS FAREWELL AFTER 4 YEARS
Hansjoerg Kretschmer, the head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Turkey, who is getting ready to depart from Turkey, said, ''early elections, discussions of presidency, Semdinli incidents, economy...I have concerns. Stability should continue.''
Kretschmer will depart from Turkey in August.
FUAT GECEN EXPELLED
Governmental Justice and Development Party (AKP) Joint Disciplinary Committee has unanimously decided to expel Hatay deputy Fuat Gecen from the party.
Gecen had criticized AKP organizations' taking the tenders in Hatay.
Meanwhile, Mahmut Kocak, and MP from Afyon, who criticized Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan saying he was ''tense and impulsive'' was sent to party disciplinary board to be expelled.

SABAH (LIBERAL)

LIST WHICH IS HIDDEN FOR 320 DAYS
Last year, only one state school was in the first 50 schools in Secondary Education Examination. SABAH announces the list which has been kept hidden for 11 months.
Ministry of National Education carried out a research to assess the success rate of Primary Schools and a list was made based on the results of ''Secondary Education Examination''.
The list revealed the striking result in education. In the research, it came out that state schools failed and it was not announced because it could lead ''inequality of opportunity''.
The results of the examination of last year are: There is just one state school in the first 50. In the first 10, there are 8 schools from Istanbul and 2 schools from Izmir. In the list there is no school from Ankara.
ANTHRAX PANIC IN IHD
When the executives of the Human Rights Association (IHD) opened an envelope that has been sent to the Istanbul branch, they found another one with a skull picture on it. Powder which spread out from the second envelope has caused a panic. A civil defense team with special outfits applied disinfectant to the building. Employees were put under quarantine.

SUSPENSION WARNING FROM THE EU
British Financial Times found the draft final statement of the Partnership Council meeting which will convene this Tuesday.
In the draft, Turkey was strongly criticized on not opening the ports to Greek Cypriots, on reforms, freedom of expression, torture and on minority issues.
The report makes the warning that negotiations can be suspended if any step is not taken.

TERRORIST ATTACK AGAIN: 2 SOLDIERS DIE
Members of PKK terrorist organization opened fire on military patrol in Semdinli town of southeastern city of Hakkari. Two soldiers died and two others were injured.
URGENT PROPOSAL TO GOVERNMENT
Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal proposed an urgent action plan comprised of 7 articles to the government to eliminate difficulties in Turkey. Baykal asked the government to dismiss Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan, National Education Minister Huseyin Celik, Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu as well as Prime Ministry Undersecretary Omer Dincer. He also wanted the government to adopt Anti-Terrorism law rapidly as well as to announce that it is ready to elect (new) president at parliament through consensus.

ERDOGAN: TURKEY CAN OVERCOME THIS FLUCTUATION
Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said that fluctuation in economy is normal, and he noted, ''we can overcome it.'' Erdogan gave promise regarding the fight against gangs, and said, ''we did not give up EU target.''

TURKIYE (RIGHT)

WE ARE RESOLVED FOR EU
''The Turkish government passed the most critical stages of its 42-year old march towards the EU,'' Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan said.
''We have been progressing toward the end of EU screening process. Detailed screenings were completed on 18 chapters and introductory screenings on 22 chapters. Now we have a new target. We hope the EU would start actual talks on June 12th,'' Erdogan said.
VORKINK: VOLATILITY WILL STOP
World Bank Turkey Director Vorkink said basis of Turkish economy was right.
''Your 2 percent budget deficit is less than many western countries. Fluctuations in markets is normal and it will settle down.''

NO ECONOMIC CRISIS TO BE ALLOWED
Rapid increase in oil prices and U.S. Central Bank's increasing rate of interest, affected Turkey like many other countries. Foreign exchange and rate of interests were affected particularly in May. However the rumor for ''crisis'' was only in Turkey.
Alarko Holding Executive Board President Ishak Alaton, replying to the questions of Zaman, said Turkey had experienced its most stable period after November 3rd, 2002 elections.
Alaton described the developments, like attack on Council of State as ''artificial agenda'' that will escalate tension.
Alaton said everybody should do his best to prevent disruption of stability.

Three of the 800 vocational schools will start to give diploma next year that will be valid in EU member countries.
