ANKARA - Turkey harshly condemned yesterday's terrorist attack in India.
Releasing a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed Turkey's profound sorrow and concerns about the terrorist attack in which many innocent civilians were killed and many others were injured.
Stressing that Turkish people shared pain and grief of Indian people, the Ministry offered condolences on behalf of Turkish people.
''Turkey is opposed to all kinds of terrorist actions whatever their motives are. We harshly condemn this cruel attack and reiterate our call once again that international cooperation in fight against terrorism should be strengthened,'' the statement added.
At least 50 people were killed and more than 100 wounded when two car bombs exploded in Bombay yesterday, one in the crowded bullion market and another at the Gateway of India, a huge waterfront archway famous as a tourist spot.
