ANKARA - Clash erupted between security forces and a group of people, who gathered in front of bureau of the Patriotic Union of Iraqi Kurdistan (PUK) in Ankara on Sunday to protest recent events in Kirkuk city of Iraq.
Sources told the A.A correspondent that a group of people gathered in front of the bureau of PUK to make a press release.
Security forces did not allow the press release and warned demonstrators to disperse immediately.
However, demonstrators responded the warning by throwing stones at security forces.
A total of 23 policemen and a number of demonstrators were injured in the clash.
Rapid deployment units were sent to the scene of the clash.
A group of demonstrators were detained.
Tight security measures were taken in the area.
