ANKARA - Governmental Justice and Development Party (AKP) Joint Disciplinary Committee has unanimously decided to expel Hatay deputy Fuat Gecen from the party.
The committee expelled Gecen from AKP because of his allegations about tenders in Hatay.
Gecen was involved in acts that violated AKP's bylaws and program as well as fundamental rules and norms of law, democracy and human rights, noted the committee in its decision on dismissal of Gecen.
After dismissal of Gecen, number of AKP MPs dropped to 356 while number of independent deputies rose to 6.
