ANKARA - Turkish main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Deniz Baykal has proposed an ''urgent action plan'' (comprised of 7 articles) to the government.
Speaking at CHP's group meeting on Tuesday, Baykal asked the government to dismiss Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan, National Education Minister Huseyin Celik, Interior Minister Abdulkadir Aksu as well as Prime Ministry Undersecretary Omer Dincer.
Baykal also wanted the government to separate Article 6 from Anti-Terrorism draft law, and swiftly promulgate it.
''The government should announce that it is ready to elect (new) president at parliament through consensus,'' called on Baykal.
Baykal also claimed that recent developments in Turkish economy are not a fluctuation (as it was claimed by the government), stating, ''there is a mini crisis in Turkey.''
Stressing that the economic policy depended on inflation targets, Baykal said, ''inflation target in 2006 is 5 percent but the inflation rate was announced as 9.86 percent as of May 2006.''
