ANKARA - Turkish Privatization Administration Board (OIB) earned 8.1 billion USD in 2005, while its revenue has reached 7.8 billion USD in the first half of 2006, it was announced officially.
According to figures of OIB, the highest earning in 2005 was obtained from the sale of Turk Telekom --6.55 billion USD.
Since the beginning of 2006, OIB privatized TUPRAS-Turkish Petroleum Refineries Corp. and gained 4.1 billion USD, and earned 2.7 billion USD from privatization of ERDEMIR-Turkish Iron & Steel Company.
OIB also sold Basak Insurance (268 million USD), Twin Towers (100 million USD) and Efes Hotel (121.5 million USD) and asked bids for part of Turkish Airlines (207 million USD) in the first half of 2006.
Privatization of Mersin Port (755 million USD) and vehicle inspection stations (613,5 million USD) are underway, executives said.
