ANKARA - Members of Confederation of Public Workers Trade Unions (KESK) who came to Ankara to attend the demonstration asking for improvement of economic and social rights of public workers, are kept waiting in four places at the entrance of the city.
KESK members who came to Ankara in the morning with buses and with the slogan of ''Democratic Turkey for Decent Life'' were stopped by the police. A total of 187 buses came to the city.
Security officials said in their meetings with KESK administrators that the public statement could be issued in Sýhhýye Square, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Boulevard or in Abdi Ipekci Park, but the unionists didn't accept it as they wanted to issue the public statement in Kýzýlay Square.
Tight security measures have been taken at the entrance of Kýzýlay square to prevent the entrance of KESK members to the square. Many routes have been closed to traffic.
