DEPUTIES HELP IRAQI PATIENT
MOSUL/TIKRIT - Justice and Development Party (AK Party) deputies Turhan Comez and Cevdet Erdol invited on Saturday an Iraqi patient who waits for treatment in Mosul for one year, to Turkey for medical treatment.
The Turkish delegation who came to Iraq to sign the land delivery protocol of the two Turkish hospitals to be built in Baghdad and Kirkuk and to hold contacts in the region, talked to local people in Mosul on the way to Baghdad.
When an Iraqi person asked for help from the Turkish delegation saying that his brother waited for medical treatment for one year, the two deputies who are both doctors, went to the house of Ibrahim Recep, the patient in Al Azber village of Mosul. The two deputies proposed to take the patient with them when they would return to Turkey after one week. Ibrahim Recep was very pleased and accepted to go to Turkey.
Meanwhile the deputies also take the views of the local people about the possibility of Turkey's sending soldiers to Iraq.
One Iraqi told the delegation that he was against deployment of foreign troops in Iraq, adding he was not against sending of humanitarian aid.
When AK Party deputy Comez showed the picture of the Turkish hospitals to be built in Iraq, Iraqi group was very pleased.
Another Iraqi with whom the Turkish deputies talked in a town near Tikrit city of Iraq said that he would be pleased with deployment of Turkish soldiers in Iraq as Turks were Muslim. Ahmed Halef, an owner of a gas station said that as a Muslim he wanted Muslim soldiers to come to Iraq.
The Turkish delegation including Red Crescent officials, businessmen, engineers, and technical personnel were welcomed by another Iraqi group when the group learnt that the delegation was from Turkey.
