ANKARA - Turkish Foreign Ministry spokesman Namik Tan denied the news reports claiming that Turkish Ambassador in Berlin Mehmet Ali Irtemcelik left the hall (upon warning of Prime Ministry Chief Advisor Ahmet Davutoglu) during the joint news conference of Turkish and German foreign ministers.
Upon question of A.A correspondent, Tan said that Irtemcelik took part in all necessary meetings of German FM Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Turkey.
Tan stressed that German Ambassador in Ankara Eckart Cuntz did not attend the meetings as well which Irtemcelik did not take part in. He added that Chief Advisor Davutoglu did not make any warning, on the contrary he told Irtemcelik that if he leaves the hall, it will be interpreted wrongly.
On Saturday, several news reports claimed that cameras focused on Irtemcelik during Gul-Steinmeier meeting, and Irtemcelik left the meeting hall upon warning of Davutoglu.
