LEFKOSA - Dervis Eroglu, the TRNC Prime Minister and National Unity Party leader said on Friday that a lasting agreement in Cyprus was needed and TRNC would only join the EU after concluding a lasting agreement.
''There is peace in Cyprus, the only short-coming is an agreement,'' said Eroglu.
Speaking during the activities organized by his party, Eroglu said that a game called ''Annan plan'' was played by the foreign powers in order to end the rights of Turkish Cypriots and to take Turkey out of Cyprus. Eroglu noted that if Annan document was signed, effective and de facto guarantee of Turkey on the island would have ended.
Eroglu said he believed that the Turkish Cypriot people would support those who protected the people, the state, the sovereignty and the rights of Turkey in Cyprus during the December elections.
