ANKARA - State Minister Ali Babacan is expected to pay a visit to the United States in September of 2003.
Sources told the A.A correspondent on Friday that Babacan was expected to leave for the United States on September 8.
Babacan's one-week tour to the United States will include the cities of Washington D.C., New York, Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles.
In Washington D.C., the first leg of his tour, Babacan will hold meetings with U.S. Treasury Department, International Monetary Fund (IMF) and World Bank officials.
Babacan will meet with directors of rating organizations, international investment banks and important funds in New York to inform them on recent developments in Turkish economy and future of economic program.
In Boston, Chicago and Los Angeles, Babacan will inform directors of important investment funds and companies on legal arrangements in Turkey about direct investment, and invite them to invest in Turkey.
Meanwhile, Babacan is scheduled to attend annual meetings of the IMF and the World Bank in the United Arab Emirates in end-September.
