Turkcell To Bid For G.S.M. Auction In Iraq

ISTANBUL - GSM operator Turkcell will bid for a GSM auction in Iraq.
Sending a statement to the stock exchange, Turkcell said that its board had decided to join the auction in a consortium, and the auction would cover three areas in Iraq for two yeas.
It added that results of the auction were expected to be announced on September 5, 2003.
Meanwhile, Turkcell announced that international rating organization Standard & Poors upgraded its long term foreign exchange rating from B- to B, and it reaffirmed stable outlook on the company.
