SIVAS - ''Turkey should show more tolerance'', said Hansjoerg Kretschmer, the head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Turkey.
Kretschmer met Osman Yildirim, the Chairman of Chamber of Commerce & Industry in central city of Sivas, and Ercan Gecmez, the chairman of the Haci Bektas Veli Anatolian Culture Foundation's chapter in this city.
In these meetings, Kretschmer underlined that Turkey should accept that people live in line with their beliefs, and should be more tolerant and liberal about this matter.
Noting that the EU has launched accession talks with Turkey, Kretschmer said that whether or not to complete this process with success depends on Turkey's endeavors.
On the other hand, Kretschmer welcomed the great progress made by Turkey in improving human rights and fundamental freedoms.
