ANKARA - ''Oman Sultanate has invited Turkish contractors to undertake highway, bridge and airport construction projects worth 12 million USD,'' said Turkish Finance Minister Kemal Unakitan on Wednesday.
Unakitan met Oman Sultanate's Minister of National Economy Ahmad bin Abd al-Nabi al-Maki in his office in Ankara. After their meeting, they signed an agreement on prevention of double taxation.
Making a keynote speech in the signature ceremony, Unakitan said that this agreement and the Export Products Fair to be opened by Oman Sultanate in Istanbul in September will enhance Turkish-Omani relations.
''I also hope to sign an investment incentive agreement soon,'' he added.
On the other hand, al-Maki said that his country has simplified procedures for businessmen who want to invest in Oman.
''We give priority to Turkish investors,'' he stated.
Al-Maki added that relations will be boosted after the agreement on encouragement and protection of mutual investments is signed.
