ANKARA - Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov arrived in Turkish capital of Ankara on Wednesday.
Lavrov will meet Turkish FM Abdullah Gul this afternoon. Following their meeting, the two foreign ministers will hold a joint press conference.
Russian FM Lavrov is scheduled to be received by President Ahmet Necdet Sezer, Parliament Speaker Bulent Arinc and PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan during his stay in Turkey.
Lavrov is expected to discuss bilateral relations, regional and international topics, and new cooperation areas in his talks with Turkish executives.
A joint declaration was adopted during Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Turkey in December 2004. In this declaration, the two countries pledged to enhance partnership and bilateral relations.
