ANKARA - Turkey's consolidated budget borrowing stock rose to 185.4 billion U.S. dollars as of end of July 2003.
According to statement released by the Treasury Undersecretariat, consolidated borrowing stock which had been 148.5 billion U.S. dollars at the end of last year increased by 24.8 percent in seven months.
As of end of July, borrowing stock was consisted of 65.4 billion U.S. dollars debt to domestic market, 54.1 billion U.S. dollars debt to public sector and 31 billion U.S. dollars debt to foreign market. Meanwhile, Turkey's debt to foreign official institutions was 13.4 billion U.S. dollars and 21.5 billion U.S. dollars to the IMF in loans at the end of July.
As of end of July, external debt stock decreased 696 million U.S. dollars to 59.3 billion U.S. dollars when compared to June 2003 while domestic borrowing stock rose 4 quadrillion Turkish liras to 179.3 quadrillion Turkish liras.
