ANKARA - ''Turkish Ambassador to Berlin Mehmet Ali Irtemcelik is on his on duty and pursuing his mission. There is no problem,'' said Turkish FM Abdullah Gul after receiving Irtemcelik on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters, Gul said that Irtemcelik is currently in Ankara to prepare German Foreign Minister's visit to Turkey.
When asked whether Irtemcelik was offended, Gul said, ''his appointment to Germany was made by Prime Minister as well as with approval of President. There is no problem.''
On Monday, Irtemcelik was received by President Ahmet Necdet Sezer after being scolded by Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan in front of public upon allegations of a woman wearing Islamic-style headscarf in Germany.
