ANKARA - The 95th Conference of the International Labor Organization (ILO) will be held in Geneva, Switzerland, between May 31st and June 16th.
Turkish Labor & Social Security Minister Murat Basesgioglu will attend the conference. He will leave for Geneva on June 4th and will address the conference on June 5th.
He is expected to return to Turkey on June 10th after holding talks with ILO Director-General Juan Somavia.
The Confederation of Turkish Labor Unions (Turk-Is) and the Confederation of Employers` Unions (TISK) will represent Turkish workers at the conference.
The conference is the annual meeting of the ILO`s 178 member states.
Heads of states and government, ministers of labor and senior representatives of workers and employers will discuss a number of issues, including changing patterns in the labor sector, child labor, occupational safety and health, technical cooperation, relationship between employers and employees, labor inspection and the application of international labor standards.
