ANKARA - Former Prime Minister Bulent Ecevit's health condition has still not changed.
Gulhane Military Medical Academy (GATA) stated yesterday that Ecevit has still been in coma on life support.
GATA did not release any statement today.
On Sunday, GATA said, ''although vital functions are stable, Ecevit has still been in critical condition. He has begun reacting to pain. Cerebral hemorrhage has been taken under control. Despite treatment by antibiotics, he has been suffering from high fever for the last two days.''
Ecevit, 81, had a stroke on May 18th after attending the funeral of judge Mustafa Yucel Ozbilgin, who was killed in an armed attack in the Council of State Second Chamber.
He was taken to the GATA with broken speech and weakness in his right arm and leg. The stroke led to a bleeding in the left side of his brain. An operation was performed to remove the accumulated blood and reduce the pressure on his brain. He has remained in coma on life support since then.
