TOKAT - Hansjoerg Kretschmer, head of the Delegation of the European Commission to Turkey, said on Monday that neither the EU nor Turkey wanted Iran to have nuclear weapons.
Kretschmer paid a visit to Governor Erdogan Gurbuz of the northern city of Tokat.
Following the meeting, Kretschmer told reporters that the criteria regarding Turkey's EU accession process were valid for all candidate countries.
Upon a question about Iran's nuclear activities, Kretschmer said that the EU and Turkey had same approach and neither the EU nor Turkey wanted Iran to possess nuclear weapons.
