BAGHDAD - A US helicopter crashed on Saturday in western Iraq and its two crew members are missing, the military said, adding the incident did not appear to be the result of an insurgent strike.
A US military statement said the helicopter went down in the restive Al-Anbar Province with two marines on board during a maintenance test flight.
"Search and rescue efforts are ongoing for the missing crewmembers. We are using all the resources available to find our missing comrades, it said.
"The incident does not appear to be a result of enemy action," it added, saying that an investigation had been opened.
