A Sarcophagus Unearthed In Ancient City Of Perge

ANTALYA - A sarcophagus dated back to 260 A.C. was unearthed during the archaeological excavations in ancient city of Perge in southern province of Antalya.
Prof. Dr. Haluk Abbasoglu from the Istanbul University Department of Archaeology told the A.A correspondent on Sunday that the sarcophagus belonged to the Roman Empire era.
There are portraits of a couple on the sarcophagus.
Meanwhile, Culture and Tourism Minister Erkan Mumcu visited the site of archaeological excavations.
