GAZIANTEP - Exports of agricultural and animal goods from Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP) region to the European Union (EU) member countries in the January-July period of 2003 increased 27 percent to 116 million 507 thousand U.S. dollars.
In the same period last year, the GAP region exported agricultural and animal products of 91 million 845 thousand U.S. dollars.
The region exported 99 million 500 thousand U.S. dollars in textiles, 14 million 982 thousand U.S. dollars in dried fruits, 1 million 390 thousand U.S. dollars in grain-cereals, 635 thousand U.S. dollars in husbandry.
Most of the products were exported to Italy, Germany, Britain and Greece.
